A bit about me: I’m a Sparta native, worked for the Sparta paper decades ago, then worked for the Tomah Journal, freelanced for the La Crosse Tribune, the Milwaukee Journal and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
I moved to the big city–New York–years ago. And it’s funny how in this media capital, Monroe County pops up a lot!
I go home a lot. And when I’m home, my mother still makes me go to the QuikTrip to buy butter when it’s on sale for $1.99 a pound (that is definitely going into the podcast).
I was a travel industry reporter in New York for decades; I’ve written for the BBC, The Financial Times and other national publications; here’s a link to some of my clips. I did a blog and videos about frac sand mining when the mines moved into Monroe County eight years ago. I’ve written one book and am starting on a second.
